London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA)
The David Ross Foundation is a key supporter of widening participation programmes undertaken by the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA).
LAMDA is a world class drama school that, since 1861, has provided the world of theatre, film and TV with generation upon generation of the finest actors and technicians. LAMDA deals in excellence, talent and imagination. LAMDA believes that the arts should be accessible to all and seeks to engage with the largest number of people from the broadest range of backgrounds in the execution of its work.
In the pursuit of achieving a better future for young people in education, LAMDA undertakes a range of outreach and widening participation activities at a local, national and international level to increase and diversify applications and to share our expertise in vocational training and personal development. LAMDA is particularly proud of its relationships with a number of schools, including an annual movement workshop with year 12 & 13 students from the local community that encourages the integration of pupils from local state and independent schools.
LAMDA works with schools and youth groups to offer young people;
- Free tickets to its public productions
- Performing arts workshops
- Guided tours & Academy insight sessions
- Workshops & advice sessions as part of the National Student Drama Festival
- Regular on-site careers Q&A sessions for individuals & groups from the UK and overseas
LAMDA Examinations - the UK's leading statutory awarding body for speech and drama, encourage creativity and a lifelong appreciation of the spoken word.
