John Ross Community Trust Fund

The John Ross MBE Community Trust Fund was launched in June 2011 in memory of John Ross, High Steward of North East Lincolnshire and David Ross' father. John Ross was a passionate advocate of Grimsby and its community. The fund is a small but important example of how the foundation is working at grass roots level in the community. The community fund aims to support local organisations and charities with grants ranging from £250 to £1,000.
Ten more Grimsby community groups are being supported by the John Ross Community Fund:
195 Air Training Corps Squadron £1,000; Chelmsford Avenue Neighbourhood Watch Community Action Group £500; Class Act Theatre Company £500; Friendship at Home £1,000; Foresight £500; Grimsby & District Remap £500; Haven Quilters £500; Macauley Area Action Group £500; Springboard Learning Centre £250 and Springfield Road Allotment Association £500
11 Grimsby community charities received support from the John Ross Community Fund in August 2011:

The fund's objectives are to help and assist with:

- reinforcing a sense of community in the area - projects run 'by the community for the community'
