Hannah Hicks
Hannah led a table tennis workshop at a joint Havelock and Malcolm Arnold Academy sports event in July, encouraging students to have a go and improving the technique skills of students in the table tennis team. She is coaching Malcolm Arnold Academy students, helping with technique, team building and self-reliance skills. She visited Malcolm Arnold Academy in July 2011.
"Having an inspirational figure like Hannah visit the academy has provided our students with a unique opportunity to meet a national table tennis champion ahead of next year's London 2012 games. Our students have learnt lots of new skills through working with Hannah, many of which can be put into practice in their PE lessons and everyday classes" said Paul Lamb, Head of Physical Education at Malcolm Arnold Academy.
Hannah hopes winning the under-21 National Table Tennis Championship earlier this year 2011 will help her qualify for London 2012. Hannah also won bronze in the women's and mixed doubles at the event and is vying for one of three spots on the British Olympic table tennis team.
David Ross Foundation is proud to support Hannah Hicks bid to be a British Olympian in 2012.
