About the Foundation

The David Ross Foundation is an independent grant-making foundation operating in England and Wales. The objects of the foundation are "to further such charitable purposes and to benefit such charitable institutions as the trustees think fit”. David Ross, Mark Bolland, Anita Bott and Christine Homer are the trustees of the foundation.

The foundation's vision stems from our belief that every child can do something well and it is our intention to help them discover their strengths by offering them a wide range of world class educational opportunities. Independent research demonstrates that the lessons we learn and the relationships we form in and out of school shape our lives and how we deal with our successes and mistakes. (Insight 2, Social inequality, can school narrow the gap, 2010)

The foundation establishes educational initiatives and supports organisations to inspire young people to achieve the best that they can and encourage them to embrace new opportunities made available to them.

Our primary interests are in the arts, community, education, music and sport and enabling disadvantaged people to participate fully in society.
